A Message to the IBI biochar community,

This past year IBI staff have been working in particular to improve the information and services available to the IBI biochar community. As we are sure you can appreciate there is a huge cost associated with not only providing upgrades to our website, but also, there are significant costs associated with providing the latest expert information and policy work on biochar, particularly in an environment where the science, the technologies, and the associated policy environments are moving and improving at such a fast pace. 

We have currently reached a point where our ability to provide free, personalized information from IBI staff has been outstripped by the demand for and the costs of these services. We have determined that we cannot continue to provide services that we have previously provided for free without financial support. Until we are able to raise additional funds to support this work we must curtail our biochar extension, policy, and related services. 

As part of our fundraising efforts to support this work, we will be rolling out a new membership plan in the very near future. We encourage you to visit our website to see what opportunities you have to support IBI and to help us continue the services you have come to rely on and value.  Additionally, we will be looking to you to identify which services you find to be most valuable, and which you would like to see in the future, including perhaps new services.
