Within the International Biochar Initiative, Hannah leverages her decade-long practice of learning design to develop localized and scalable capacity-building initiatives in collaboration with local community representatives, subject matter experts, and industry leaders as part of a global, cross-sector effort to scale the biochar industry and adapt to the greatest environmental challenges of our time.

James Kench

Biology & Chemistry double major, lifelong learner, data nerd & mediocre fly fisherman. He is passionate about leadership, climate, risk & technology, and shaping the future of the industry.

Jason Dodier

Co-Founder, GRAIN Ecosystem

Jason Dodier is an American international business professional and Co-Founder of the GRAIN Ecosystem, dedicated to revolutionizing global supply chain waste decarbonization. Leveraging innovative solutions like biochar and digitization, Grain spearheads efforts to enhance capital accessibility and expertise in this critical domain. Based in New York City, Jason played a pivotal role in advancing Energy as a Service microgrids in the US, notably contributing to the JFK New Terminal One Microgrid, showcasing his unwavering commitment to sustainability.

With extensive experience living and working across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, Jason has dedicated years to Access to Energy initiatives and broad-based decarbonization efforts, focusing on distributed energy solutions for buildings, data centers, and communities. His multifaceted expertise in operations, business development, marketing, and sales management has been honed through his tenure at Schneider Electric.

Jan Cihlar

VP Climate Finance, PYREG 

Jan has spent 10 years working with top renewable and management advisory companies, focusing on renewable energy procurement, the decarbonization of heavy industry, and serving as a startup mentor. Jan leads the PYREG Climate Finance Solution team, which aims to set the highest industry standard for carbon removal and help as many companies as possible benefit from biochar.

Will Higbee

Head of Carbon Banking and Markets, Flowcarbon

Will heads up Carbon Banking and Markets at Flowcarbon, with a particular focus on the Project Finance activities.  Flowcarbon arranges non-dilutive debt capital for carbon removal projects with a particular focus on biochar. Prior to joining Flowcarbon, Will was a Managing Director at HSBC and before that worked at Macquarie Capital.
