Samuel Thuo Mungai

Samuel is an agronomist and sustainability practitioner with over 17 years of experience advancing sustainable agriculture, regenerative farming, and inclusive agricultural value chains across East Africa. He is Co-Founder and Operations Director at Ziada Solutions Ltd, a Kenyan circular bioeconomy enterprise transforming agricultural residues and invasive biomass into valuable products, including banana fibre and biochar.

He also serves as Chair of the Circular Bionutrient Economy Network (CBEN), promoting biochar, circular nutrient systems, and knowledge exchange across the region. His experience spans smallholder farmer engagement, soil health, sustainability standards, and capacity building. Sam is passionate about advancing practical, locally grounded biochar solutions that restore ecosystems, support climate action, and create resilient rural livelihoods.
