The Status Quo of Biochar in Germany

28 October @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am CST

What does it take to build a national biochar sector, and earn a seat at the policy table?

The International Biochar Initiative (IBI) and the German Biochar Association (German Biochar e.V.) invite you to a joint webinar: The status quo of biochar in Germany.

How are biochar projects developing in Germany? And what does the industry’s experience tell us about getting biochar recognized in climate policy?

Leopold Steinbeis will open with an introduction to the  German Biochar Association, its role, and examples of projects  across Germany. He will then discuss  the association’s policy and advocacy work, including where progress has been difficult and what they’ve learned from their efforts so far. The discussion will also cover  how biochar carbon removal is finding its place in national and EU climate strategies, and what developments at the EU level mean for producers.

We’ll close with an open Q&A. Whether you’re working on a project or trying to move policy forward in your own country, bring your questions. You can also send your questions ahead of time to info@biochar-international.org.
