🌎 IBI at the 2nd Latin American Biochar Congress
In August, I had the opportunity to represent the International Biochar Initiative virtually at the 2nd Latin American Biochar Congress in Bogotá, Colombia.
I joined the Congress to give two presentations and was glad to have the opportunity to contribute to the conversations taking place around the development and growing interest in biochar across Latin America.
Although I was only able to participate virtually and for my presentation sessions, it was great to see the continued momentum around biochar in the region and the diversity of work being carried out across Latin America.
I’d love to hear from other IBI members who participated in the Congress! What were some of your key takeaways, interesting discussions, or emerging topics that caught your attention?
And for those who didn’t attend the Congress but are working on biochar in Latin America, we’d also love to hear from you! What do you see as some of the biggest challenges or opportunities for biochar projects in the region? Are there particular barriers related to policy, financing, technology, markets, or project development that you think deserve more attention?
Feel free to share your experiences, perspectives, or questions below. It would be great to use this space to continue the conversation and learn from the different experiences of our members across Latin America. 🌱
