Biochar Academy in July – new interactive (very active) format
I’ve had the chance to participate in several editions of the Biochar Academy — starting as part of the very first cohort — and one thing has remained consistent: no two Academies are ever the same.
Each edition reflects its region. Different feedstocks, different systems, different challenges. And yet, the core experience stays remarkably aligned — practical, grounded, and deeply collaborative.
What stands out is not just the technical content, but the format itself. Moving across sites, seeing real operations, asking questions directly to practitioners, and testing ideas in context changes the way you understand biochar. It becomes less theoretical and much more tangible.
Over time, these experiences also build something less visible but equally important: relationships that last well beyond the program. People you continue to exchange ideas with, collaborate with, and learn from.
If you’re looking to better understand how biochar actually works on the ground — across production, application, and markets — this is a solid place to start.
Bangkok in July will offer a very different lens, particularly given the diversity of systems in the Asia-Pacific region.
Worth considering if this is relevant to your work.
