How to Get the Most from the IBI Community of Practice
Welcome to the International Biochar Initiative’s online Community of Practice — your space to connect with fellow members, share insights, message in real time, and advance biochar for climate and community resilience.
This forum brings together IBI members from around the world to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration across the global biochar movement.
Here are a few steps to set yourself up for success!
1. Edit Your Profile
Navigate to the top right of your screen and click on the silhouette icon. Click “Edit Profile”, and you will be able to: add a profile picture (recommended) and fill out your affiliation and region (required).
2. Introduce Yourself
Visit the Introductions Forum and share a quick hello: where you’re based, what you’re working on, and what you hope to learn or contribute.
3. Join the Groups You Align With
Explore topic groups that align with your work, like the Biochar Production and Technology, Carbon Markets and Certification, and many more. Plus, join the group that aligns with your region to stay connected to other biochar practitioners in your part of the world. Jump into threads, ask questions, or start your own discussions.
4. Share Knowledge & Resources
Post case studies, reports, or experiences that others can learn from. This community thrives when members share their expertise and on-the-ground insights.
5. Stay Connected
Watch for monthly themes, member spotlights, and follow-up discussions from IBI webinars and publications.
6. Be Respectful, Curious, and Collaborative
