Luisa Marin Joins IBI Board of Directors

The International Biochar Initiative (IBI) announces that Luisa Marin will conclude her role as Executive Director and join IBI’s Board of Directors, where she will continue contributing to the organization’s mission and long-term direction.

“We are very grateful to Luisa for her leadership, dedication, and the important contribution she has made to IBI over the past two years,” said Lucia Brusegan, Chair of the Board. “Today, IBI is a stable, structured, and fully operational organization, and much of what we now take for granted was built during Luisa’s tenure. She has made an important contribution to strengthening the organization and creating the foundations on which IBI can continue to expand its influence.

Luisa has also built excellent relationships with our team and with IBI’s stakeholders around the world, doing so with professionalism, openness, and genuine commitment. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and for everything she has contributed to IBI, and we are very pleased that she will continue to bring her experience, knowledge, and commitment to the organization as a member of the Board.”

As IBI enters this next phase, the Board of Directors will provide strategic and operational oversight, working closely with the team to ensure continuity and focus the organization’s activities on its core mission and priorities.

IBI remains committed to advancing sustainable biochar systems and supporting the global biochar community, and extends its sincere thanks to Luisa for her service and leadership as Executive Director.
