Robin Werren is Product Manager for the Construction C-Sink and Biochar C-Sink Standards at Carbon Standards, where he works on implementing and certifying carbon removal projects worldwide. He trained originally as a carpenter before spending years in construction across Switzerland and abroad, giving him a hands-on foundation in sustainable building practice. He went on to study Wood Technology Engineering at Bern University of Applied Sciences, specializing in sustainable product and process management, and later worked in CDR tech start-ups focused on afforestation, biochar, and construction projects in the Global South. Before joining Carbon Standards, he worked in bio-based product innovation for construction and CDR methodology development. Robin brings a rare combination of a scientific mindset and technical engineering to the question of how we build a climate positive future.
Thorsten Groeneveld studied business law. After 10 years, in a law firm specializing in business succession, he decided 2023 to leave the field and looked for a new role in an area that serves to preserve the planet. He became part of the newly founded start-up CarStorCon Technologies as the second managing director responsible for the entire administrative area. CarStorCon® stands for Carbon Storage Concrete. This carbon-storing concrete is produced using the specially developed aggregate Clim@Add®, which is based on technical carbon from pyrolysis plants. CarStorCon Technologies has grown in the last years and currently supports many projects in concrete and asphalt plants.
